Ignorance is prevalent in many religious fundamentalist who believe the bible states homosexuality is a sin and George W. Bush is the second coming of Jesus Christ. One of their most well known ignorance is that towards [[Global Warming]]. Depsite most scientists arugments of the fact this it is real, many continue to label it a peice of liberal propoganda. Others state to just ingore it and focus on more important issues such as bashing gay people and bombing abortion clinics (despite the fact that if you were a true Christian who followed Jesus Christ, you would be focusing on more important issues such as ending poverty and the pollution of the world which is causing millions to be sick and threatens the very existence of all living things on this earth).

Ignorance (from Latin ignorantia) is the state of being ignorant; the want of knowledge in general, or in relation to a particular subject; or the state of being uneducated or uninformed[1].

For many people ignorance is bliss. They prefer not knowing something because it is often more comfortable than knowing it. The opposite of this attitude is what Christian psychiatrist M. Scott Peck calls "(Mental health is the ongoing process of) dedication to reality at all costs".
