Andrew "Andy" Eugene Pettite is a starting pitcher for the New York Yankees. Pettitte was selected by the Yankees in the 22nd round of the June 1990 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft after graduating from Deer Park (Texas) High School[1]. as of the middle of 2007 season he had the career statics of 199 wins and 112 losses with a 3.81 ERA and 1834 strikeouts. From 2004 to 2006 he played with the Houston Astros and was a starter in the teams 2005 World Series.
Pettitte has not yet decided whether he will return to play with the Yankees in 2008 or bring his career to an end. "I'm not real sure what I'm going to do," stated Pettitte. "It's kind of strange, because for sure I didn't expect my arm to respond the way it has this year. That's the whole reason I wanted the option, so I didn't feel obligated if I was hurting this year to come back."[2]
