This article (and I suspect others - I just got here via "Random Page") really needs to be clarified so that non-lawyers are able to make any sense of some of the more obscure notes:

• 477 U.S. 242 - it would be interesting to know what this code means - if it's part of a system, maybe make an article about it and link these codes to it?
• under Fed. R. Civ. P. 56(c). - IDK my BFF Jill?
• Id. at 249 (and the other "Id"s) - refer to what exactly? (Also, footnotes might help)

I imagine that it'll be faster for Andy to use his knowledge to fix/clarify this than for me to start from scratch with research, so I'm just posting this here. --Jenkins 11:09, 3 November 2007 (EDT)
