Aristide Briand (born in 1862 in Nantes died 1932)[1] was a French socialist statesman who served several times as Prime Minister of France during the turbulent period of governments being voted out of office rather quickly by the French populace. He won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1926. As foreign minister from 1925 to 1932, he co-authored and signed the Kellogg-Briand Pact.
