The Quarter is a coin in the United States. It is equal to 25 cents, or one-fourth of a dollar. Sometimes it is also called "two pieces of eight" or "two bits".

All quarters have George Washington on the front, and the statement "In God We Trust". This is because the two most important people in American History are God and George Washington. The word "Liberty" is also on the front of the quarter.

On the back, or obverse, of the quarter is an eagle, or a picture of a palmetto tree and a wren (since 2000).

America is one of only a few countries with a quarter coin. A lot of other countries just have dimes or 20-cent coins.
