Template:Stub Legolas, son of Thranduil, is an elf from Mirkwood. He is initially sent to Rivendell to bring the news that Gollum had escaped from Mirkwood. Legolas ended up joining the Fellowship, and participating in various battles in the War of the Ring. He left Middle Earth with Gimli in the year 1541 of the Fourth Age.
