A pharmacy is a store that sells prescription drugs. In the U.S pharmacies are commonly called drugstores. The word pharmacy derives fromthe Greek pharmakeia, via the Old French farmacie, and Medieval Latin pharmacia, which means "use of drugs or medicines". This word derives from pharmakeus "preparer of drugs," which refers topharmakon "drug, poison, philter, charm, spell, enchantment."
