Should conservatives follow the liberal convention of categorizing people by their race? Is it necessary, or serve any purpose?

We all know that liberals do that, so as to present statistical evidence of how one particular group or another is helped by their never-ending entitlement programs. And I am not saying to banish the term(s). But I wonder if it isn’t forward-thinking, which conservative’s actually do more of than liberals, IMO, to just stop classifying our leaders in all walks by race? Rice is certainly all-American.

I asked this of Andy, and he agreed, we should not be categorizing people by race. --₮K/Talk 17:02, 10 April 2008 (EDT)
