Darwinism, named for the nineteenth-century English naturalist Charles Darwin, is a pejorative term used by creationists to discredit evolution, by making it sounds like a petty and small theory. Just as there is no "Eintsteinism" - there is general relativity - there is no Darwinism. [1]
The theory of natural selection is one of two major evolutionary theories advanced by Darwin, the other being the theory of descent with modification.[2]
The modern theory of evolution based on Darwin's idea is sometimes called "Neo-Darwinism", or more formally "the modern synthesis".[Citation Needed]
