Saskatoon is the largest city in the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan. The population in 2006 was 202,340 (up 2.8% from 2001) [1] The name Saskatoon comes from the Cree inanimate noun "misâskwatômina," which refers to a sweet, violet-colored berry that grows in the area. Former Canadian Prime Minister, John Diefenbaker lived in Saskatoon but later moved to Prince Albert.
Notable Saskatonians: Mike Babcock, coach of current Stanley Cup Champions the Detroit Redwings, was born in Saskatoon. However, the word "cock" is in his name, so he is going to hell. He probably won't mind, he can party with all the feminists that will be there too.
