Criteria?

What criteria is used for inclusion on this page? Is it based on some official list somewhere? Philip J. Rayment 05:45, 3 April 2008 (EDT)

There are several lists available, but no one is complete and no one could be complete. Our collection tries to show the best of the best, but giving a sample from different places, years and subjects. Your help is much appreciated. In art, is there a valid criteria? --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 09:04, 3 April 2008 (EDT)
Some of these don't really strike me as being treasures. And some exclusions make me go "huh". Kaieteur Falls anyone? Or maybe the ruins of Great Zimbabwe. The Forbidden City in Beijing? The Hoover Dam is fairly impressive... 22:55, 3 April 2008 User:DM
We welcome your ideas. Please proceed to edit the missing "treasures". But before deleting anyone, please be so kind to ask first. --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 22:59, 3 April 2008 (EDT)

World treasures

I wish I had the time and money to visit just a few of these! DanH 23:34, 3 April 2008 (EDT)

Auckland NZ

Auckland, NZ is not a world treasure. I have been there (being a NZ citizen and all) and it is merely a city, not a very nice one either to be honest. The National Museum of New Zealand (Known as Te Papa) is much more iconic and is well known world wide. see here - http://www.richmondguesthouse.co.nz/images/wellington/36tepapa.jpg Please change this. Thanks. P.S. I have been to many of the places listed in this section during my travels. Stunning places they are. AdenJ 07:17, 23 May 2008 (EDT)
