It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with [[::Ethiopia|Ethiopia]]. (Discuss)

Ge'ez was a Semetic language spoken in Ethiopia, which used an alphabet based on the alphabets of the semetic peoples.[1] It was the language of the Kingdom of Aksum, which is located in present day Ethiopia.[1] It has been compared to Latin, by some, in that the three languages spoken in Ethiopia are derived from it, similar to how Latin developed into Italian, Spanish, and French.
