The G-8 is a group of the 8 richest industrial nations that gather every year in the G-8 Summit to discuss current global issues such as war, economics and other issues that face the world. Currently the G-8 consists of the United States, Germany, Japan, The United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Canada and France. Each nation of the G-8 hosts the summit on a rotating basis.
