I find it quite ironic, And dare I say absurd, That something so iconic As the Pledge cannot be heard, Merely because its text includes The two words "under God"... And that on First Amendment grounds Those words would be outlawed! Could it be more offensive Just to display a cross, Or show a little sign which states, "Jesus still saves the lost," Than it would be to shout insults, To curse, and flip the bird? I find it quite ironic, In fact, rather absurd.
I find it diabolical, And thoroughly decadent, To treat our tiniest citizens Like so much excrement. Denied the right to trial, To life and liberty; Denied personhood status, Their mothers' "property", Routinely put to death in ways We'd shudder if we saw, Deprived of life without a charge-- No "due process of law". The carnage yet continues, With no sign of relent. I find it diabolical, And thoroughly decadent.
