Homeless People

Homeless People in the U.S. are defined as people who have no residence. They don't own their own homes, rent, or reside with relatives. They don't even have roommates: they're literally "on the street".

Before 1980, Homeless People were called street people. Female street people were called "bag ladies".

The Federal Government estimates around 350,000 homeless people^{[Citation Needed]} - just over 0.1 percent of the total population. Activists generally use a highly inflated figure of around 3 million^{[Citation Needed]}; see Mutant Statistics.
