The Chicago Tribune has been the daily leading newspaper in Chicago for decades.[1] Formerly a conservative newspaper, it has become increasingly liberal in outlook.
Its lengthy history precedes the Great Chicago Fire.[2] The Tribune was an early and active supporter of Abraham Lincoln.
