The Chicago Tribune has been the daily leading newspaper in Chicago for decades.[1] The Tribune endorsed a Democratic candidate for President for the first time in 2008, when it endorsed Barack Obama.[2]
Its lengthy history precedes the Great Chicago Fire.[3] The Tribune was an early and active supporter of Abraham Lincoln.
