Bugle calls

Bugle calls are used in a number of military institutions to coordinate a soldier's day. An example (used in the Civil War) is listed below:

• 5:50am - first call
• 6:00am - Reveille (signalling morning assembly)
• 6:15am - stable call (calvary soldiers prepare horses)
• 6:30am - breakfast call
• 7:00am - sick call (ill and injured soldiers report to sick bay)
• 7:30am - fatigue call (work parties report to duty)
• 8:50am - assembly of trumpeteers (aka guard call - changing of the guard)
• 8:55am - assembly of guard detail (assembly of guards)
• 9:00am - adjuant's call (guard mounting ceremony)
• 9:15am - water call (for horses)
• 9:30am - drill, first call
• 10:00am - drill, assembly
• 11:00am - drill, recall
• 11:30am - recall from fatigue (work parties cease)
• 12:00pm - mess call
• 1:00pm - fatigue call
• 1:30pm - First Sergeant's call (morning reports due)
• 2:00pm - mounted drill
• 2:30pm - dismount drill
• 3:30pm - drill, recall
• 4:30pm - water and stable call
• 5:00pm - recall from fatigue
• 5:15pm - assembly of trumpteers for retreat (for final parade)
• 5:30pm - assembly (retreat parade)
• 5:45pm - adjuntant's call (captain marches buglers and other musicians to parade)
• 6:00pm - retreat (flag lowering ceremony)
• 8:55pm - assembly of trumpeteers for tatoo
• 9:00pm - tatoo (prepare for bed)
• 9:05pm - assembly (bed check and last roll call)
• 9:15pm - taps (lights out)
