NFL Career
In 2003 Kelly Washington was drafted in the third round of the NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. In his rookie he played in all sixteen games with the Bengals and caught 22 passes for 299 yards and 4 touchdown. In his second season with Cincinnati he once again played in all sixteen games. He fished 2004 with 31 receptions for 378 yards and 3 touchdowns. However, unfortunately for the Bengals and Kelley, Washington's 2005 and 2006 seasons were marred by injures and his production drop to a total of 19 receptions for 216 yards and 2 touchdowns. Also as a direct result of his injures he only played in a total of 12 games (out of a possible 32) from 2005 - 2006. After the 2006 season he became a free agent and was signed by the New England Patriots on March 12, 2007. The deal he signed with the Patriots is worth worth seven million dollars over a five year contract period. He will wear number 15 with the Patriots.
