Dr. Jacqueline Kasun

Dr. Jacqueline Kasun (b. 1924; d. January 1, 2009) strong conservative and professor emeritus of economics, she had a remarkable life that spanned the globe. According to Humboldt Pro-life, "She was a devout Christian, a strong and courageous pro-life and pro-family advocate, co-founder of Humboldt Pro-Life and author."

Early Years

Just a few months old in 1924, she was orphaned and was raised by her father's grand parents. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, next she enlisted in the U.S. Army and stationed in Ohio. She accepted a teaching position at Pomona College. Eventually, Jacqueline word earn a master's and doctorate at Columbia University. She married Lt. Col. Joseph Kasun(Ret.)and they had two daughters and a son. She would go on to author the book The War Against Population. She was known as an avid tennis player.

Humboldt Pro-Life

Their current mission is to "support all efforts in our community leading to a greater respect for all human life, from the moment of fertilization until natural death."

Jacqueline co-founded Humboldt Pro-Life in 1972. In response to the legalization of abortion in California, a year prior to the notorious Roe v. Wade ruling. Over the course of 36 years, Humboldt Pro-Life has set up booths at local fairs, formed the Grandma House; a home for girls crisis pregnancy's. Also, the formation of the Crisis Pregnancy Center and a Memorial for the Unborn at St. Bernard Cemetery in Eureka. In addition, literature for students, teachers, churches and the media.
