Glen Campbell is a musician and actor. Born on April 22, 1936 in Delight, Arkansas, he began playing guitar as a youth without ever learning to read music. By the time he was eighteen, he was touring the south as part of the Western Wranglers. In 1958, he moved to Los Angeles to become one of the most sought after studio musicians in town.
Campbell had a number of hit records, including, Turn Around Look At Me, Gentle On My Mind, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, Wichita Lineman, Galveston, It’s Only Make Believe, and Rhinestone Cowboy. He was also the host of a popular television show, the Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour.
As an actor, Campbell appeared on many popular TV shows, as well as the motion pictures True Grit, Norwood and Strange Homecoming.
Glen Campbell was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
