Hey thanks! You gave me the idea to create articles about Bibles. I'd even like to make a table of all the translations and put it at the bottom of the pages, you know.

Hello AddisonDM!!!  I was wondering if you could change the title of the [[Why do people choose homosexuality?]] article to "Mystery:Why do people choose homosexuality?".  It is in the category mystery but is not titled like the others (i.e. does not have "Mystery" on the beginning of the title).  If you could fix that I would appreciate that very much.  Hope you had a merry Christmas and a happy new year!!! --[[User:AmeliaJ|AmeliaJ]] 17:56, 5 January 2009 (EST)

== Hans Christian Andersen ==

−

−
Hi, I noticed you added an edit to the page [[Hans Christian Anderson]]. I added a merge template to this page back in September 2008, noting that the name of the article is '''mis-spelled''' and should be [[Hans Christian Andersen]] for which we also have a page. Somehow the suggestion to merge must have been overlooked, and edits continued to be made to the page with the incorrect name. Now that you are a Sysop, I think you should be able to correct the name of the page, otherwise I would urge you to merge the two pages, and not to keep the page that is mis-spelled. Thanks! Oxford’s IP range is: 129.67.0.0 - 129.67.255.255 and isn’t involved in any range blocks. This is just another example of the liberal trolls and vandals ''at certain sites'' use of the "big lie technique", which they spam out to everyone with block rights, to raise a false flag issue. --[[User:TK|'''₮K''']]<small><small>/Admin</small></small>[[User_Talk:TK|/Talk]] 18:04, 12 January 2009 (EST)

Addison, please stop adding articles to the template. It appears like a navigation template, but it was for information, and just a few pertinent articles were intended to be on it, to help our users understand what it means to be a liberal, is all.  Thanks!  --[[User:TK|'''₮K''']]<small><small>/Admin</small></small>[[User_Talk:TK|/Talk]] 21:29, 12 January 2009 (EST)

Hey Addison! So just so you know, I took a look at the problem you and Wesley mentioned on TK's page. I've found that that the problem is a lack of <nowiki><noinclude></noinclude></nowiki> tags around the category. Noinclude tags say that when this template is shown on another page, ignore the stuff inside these tags. [http://www.conservapedia.com/index.php?title=Template:Delete&diff=610341&oldid=251227 Here] and [http://www.conservapedia.com/index.php?title=Template:The_Beatles&diff=610353&oldid=251013 here] you added the category to templates. On face-value that's fine, but the problem is you didn't put noinclude tags around the category, so that category showed up on every page that had either of those templates on it. (Also note that [[Template:Delete]] is not a navbox - navboxes are for the purpose of navigating the wiki ... going from one article to another; Template:Delete is more of a notice box, if you will). I'll try to find some more templates with the problem and fix them up. Just so you know - that's a very easy mistake to make, so definitely don't worry about it.--<small>[[User:Iduan|<span style="color: #FFCCCC; background: #660000">I]][[User_talk:Iduan|<span style="color:#CCCCFF; background:#000033">Duan]]</span></span></small> 17:32, 16 February 2009 (EST)

Hello my fellow freshman sysop, HelpJazz was not a vandal. He was in fact a moderate and through no fault of his own, was the target of a parodist plot by a vandal website. Subsequently, he left us for them and made negative comments about CP. This resulted in banishment. If he decided otherwise, he would most likely be invited back.--[[User:Jpatt|jpatt]] 22:49, 22 February 2009 (EST)

−

−
*The negative comments were being made well before Jazz was removed from this site. That is a documented fact. In fact to call them "negative comments" is a [[deceit]] as they were most vile and base.  While one or two editors here, who later admitted to being parodists were hostile to him, the fact he was not trusted much, from the beginning, is also a documented fact. HelpJazz was rewarded at a well-known vandal site by being made an Administrator there.  Mr. Schlafly, as well as the majority of senior administrators,  have made it very clear that that he isn't welcome back. --[[User:TK|'''₮K''']]<small><small>/Admin</small></small>[[User_Talk:TK|/Talk]] 02:33, 23 February 2009 (EST)

Alluding to this is completely unnecessary. I don't want my children reading this encyclopedia if it directly references every profane rant from a liberal. - Allison

−

:Hmmm, first of all, [[Conservapedia]] contains virtually no profanity or references of liberal rants at all. ::The point was that he rescinded his apology, not that he is profane (we already knew this). At what point does it become too profane to even quote? For a Christian encyclopedia, I think it already crossed the line. Perez Hilton being profane has absolutely nothing to do with him being a bigot. If you think it does, please explain. - Allison

−

−
:::I don't want to make an argument, but since the quote is merely an allusion and the letters censored, I don't see how can be offensive to a reader.

−

−
:::Since he would make this allusion while claiming to be apologizing ''does'' show bigotry and reveal his character. It's not because it's profanity that I want to include it, of course, but because it is an insight into how bigoted the guy is, that he cannot even make a real apology after going on a rant against Prejean. == So ==

−

−
Okay, Addison. I've been asked for my insights, and my insights I will offer. Hopefully we can keep a certain level of philosophical and scientific rigour to our discussions, and maybe a bit of civility, too. Starting off with something simple:

−

−
It seems wrong and contradictory to me that conservative christians can so strongly support the military when the Bible quite plainly states "thou shall not kill" and one of the military's main functions is killing.

−

−
Thoughts? --[[User:Samjames|Samjames]] 22:13, 24 May 2009 (EDT)

−

−
:Well, okay. It goes like this. Almost no one denies that self-defense (or defending someone else) is justifiable by that commandment. So fighting a war for national security or to remove a murderous dictator is generally just.

−

−
:The military is something to be respected for its actions, not as a general rule. In my view, most of America's wars have been just and the service of our military has been just as well. It has never been to commit war crimes or to fight a war without the intent of saving American or foreign lives.

−

−
:So: ''if'' our military and our nation habitually waged unjust wars, I would not uphold them and in fact I would criticize those who do of contradiction. But ''if'' they have not, then I do uphold them. So let me ask you, do you accuse the military of fighting unjust wars?

−

−
::Right on Addison. Yes, liberals pick and choose which wars are worthy of opposing (no protests scheduled for the Sri Lanka war) but if it involves the USA- they love to feel all righteous opposing the USA!--[[User:Jpatt|Jpatt]] 23:15, 24 May 2009 (EDT)

−

−
:::Thanks for those illuminating comments, Jpatt. I had no idea that being "civil" included using the term "liberal" as an insult. I will now proceed to ignore you.

−

−
:::Sorry for taking so long to respond, Addison. Exams tend to do that to a person. I see what you're saying about self-defense, and that's a legitimate argument; however, I do indeed feel that a lot of wars on the parts of many countries are unjust, the US included. A lot of American wars are waged for reasons that are more self-centered than anything else. I mean, the Iraq War was started as a reaction to information that the Bush Administration mostly made up. You could say the Iraq War was more for oil than anything else, although I will admit that's debatable.

−

−
:::You can't really say that the US is entering wars for altruistic, world peace-fostering reasons. What about the hundreds of countries with fewer political freedoms than existed in Iraq? Why was there so little US involvement in the Somali or Rwandan civil wars?

−

−
:::Even wars where the US is making some sort of effort to protect itself or solve problems aren't very just at all, considering that the US hardly tries other options. The US doesn't try very hard to find diplomatic solutions to problems. The US can't just do whatever it pleases, become involved in wars because other countries are pissed at them, and then call such wars just. As long as there are other courses of action it's not okay to enter conflicts where lives, innocent or otherwise, might be lost.--[[User:Samjames|Samjames]] 17:45, 10 June 2009 (EDT)

−

−
::::Iraq was fought much because the whole world thought Saddam had WMDs. So there was a genuine national security element to it. There was also an altruistic element? The difference between Iraq and Sudan is that Sudan has no national security benefit. Do you think it's okay for a nation to choose a war that has national security potential and altruistic benefits over a war that has nothing in the nations's best interest? == Upload screen ==

Did you decide not to edit it?  I would suggest these additions:

−

−
*Please accurately name the image you are uploading, changing the name if necessary to remove numbers and present a concise description of what the image is or about. EXAMPLE: BrazilFlag.jpg, not 12390cfeji2034.jpg.

−

−
*Remember to add a category to this image, or more than one if necessary. EXAMPLE: Category: Image, Category:World Flags, Category: Brazil.

−

−
*Our image protection policy requires all uploaded images be locked. Please don't add cascading protection to images.
