In Greek mythology, Pandora was a woman entrusted by the Gods with a box, and told never to open it. However, due to what the story calls feminine curiosity, she did open the box, and resultingly let loose from it all the misfortunes that befall men (such as greed and death). Pandora discovered the feeling of hope inside the box, but closed it before hope was let out.[Citation Needed]
