Some women's organizations like the National Organization of Women disagree with the Bible and argue that they should not have to submit to their husbands, but instead should have "equal" rights.<ref>[http://womensvoicesraised.org/bakerLetter.html]</ref> Many Christian churches support this idea {{fact}}, despite the many biblical passages suggesting the contrary.

These viewpoints are not not widely accepted in first-world nations, although some individuals still adhere to them.
