NY Times bestselling memoir of US Marine Eugene B Sledge (nicknamed 'Sledgehammer') and his experiences at Peleliu & Okinawa.
With the Old Breed, written from the enlisted man's perspective, doesn't shy away from the brutality, horror, and hatred both sides displayed during the Peleliu (15 Sept. - 27 Nov. 1944) & Okinawa (1 April-23 June 1945) campaigns.
