Danny Gokey is a conservative Christian who placed third in season 8 of the television show American Idol. [1] His wife of 12 years died shortly before his audition; however, he continued in the contest. [2] Danny has recently released a new song called "It's Only." This song is about following Jesus and being a good Christian. Excerpt from the lyrics to "It's only":
There’s a face in the mirror
A man that I can be
Lord, won’t you open my eyes
Won’t you help me see
A hungry child needs more than a piece of bread
Brother needs a job to get ahead
And the homeless need a place to lay their head
And as much as I’ve been giving
I could never give enough'' [3]
