Good question, and probably like trying to fit a square peg into a selection of circular holes.  He was a "classical liberal," kind of like some of the founding fathers, which reflects many of today's conservative values: laissez-faire, democracy, freedom of speech, equality of women.  However, he was a fairly rabid atheist, so I'm not sure if trying to label him is worthwhile at all. Could someone please elaborate on how Mill was homeschooled "in an atheistic way"? It doesn't seem to contribute to the article in any way.

Moderate conservative?

Good question, and probably like trying to fit a square peg into a selection of circular holes. He was a "classical liberal," kind of like some of the founding fathers, which reflects many of today's conservative values: laissez-faire, democracy, freedom of speech, equality of women.
