Leslie Groves was a U.S. Army general who built the Pentagon building, then directed the [[Manhattan Project]] that built the [[atomic bomb]] during [[World War II]].
Groves hired [[J. Robert Oppenheimer]] as scientific manager under Groves' supervision. Later, Groves testified for Oppenheimer in opposition to revocation of his security clearance by Congress. Congress revoked Oppenheimer's security clearance anyway.
