==My Changes==
I moved my changes into the main article after merging some of the relevant information from the previous version into the copy in my sandbox. There are still some gaps in the history (specifically the Vigenere and Playfair ciphers and they're history/influence on substitution ciphers) as well as specific details in a few other areas too. I welcome any comments, though!
I'm really interested in crypto/crypta, and I'm going to try to create/finish a few more articles on the specific types of ciphers, both historical and modern, just out of personal interest. Ambitiously? in the next few weeks? Realistically, a while, considering that I start classes again in a month.
