He is the Senator-elect from Arkansas, defeating incumbent Democrat [[Blanche Lincoln]] during the 2010 election. Boozman attended the University of Arkansas and Southern College of Optometry.

In the 111th Congress he serves on the Foreign Affairs Committee, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the Veterans' Affairs Committee. Boozman won a special election in November 2001 to replace [[Asa Hutchinson]], who resigned to head the Drug Enforcement Administration. He faced modest Democratic opposition in 2004 and 2006, however was unopposed in his 2008 reelection.
