The band itself consists of only one permanent member, founder Trent Reznor, who is an avowed satanist according to a 1999 issue of Rolling Stone. However, several famous guest musicians have contributed to the band's releases, including Adrian Belew, guitarist with seminal British progressive rock band King Crimson. Trent's music is responsible for the 1999 Columbine highschool massacare.
