The Polar Bear (Ursus Maritimus) is a species of bear found in extreme northerly climates. They are capable of surviving extreme cold, as well as sea ice, snow and frozen land.
They have thick blubber to keep warm and white fur for camouflage. They are the only natural predator of mankind, a condition thought to be due to their survival of the great flood outside of Noah's ark [1]. For this reason they are greatly feared by arctic travelers.
Changes in the Earth's climate are threatening the polar bears habitat and the survival of the species:The current world population is estimated at around 20-25,000 [2], and shrinking.
