Personal Recollections
Have no place in this article about the building, The Pentagon. Abbie Hoffman has exactly zero to do with the building, its reason for being, its facts and figures. --~ Sysop-TerryK MyTalk 17:57, 6 April 2007 (EDT)
- I’m seriously confused by this statement. I wrote and added a paragraph about one of the largest protests of the Vietnam War which was targeted at the Pentagon. Why does this not belong in an article about the Pentagon? This is a historical event, well documented, that received much publicity at the time it occurred—it occurred at the Pentagon and was targeted at the Pentagon. Saying this protest has nothing to do with the Pentagon is like saying the fact that the 9/11 attacks partially targeted the Pentagon has nothing to do with the Pentagon. I realy can’t see a legitimate distinction between the two events (both happened, both were major events, both targeted the Pentagon) why should we include one but not the other?--Reginod 18:06, 6 April 2007 (EDT)
- I'm interested in the entire history of the Vietnam War - both the military aspects in the field, and the political machinations on the "home front". If you want to write about anti-US or pro-Vietcong protesters, go right ahead. Just consider: is The Pentagon the best place for that information? --Ed Poor 18:23, 6 April 2007 (EDT)
- When their stated goal was the levitate the Pentagon and cast the demon(s) out, I think this is a fair place to put that information—it could also go in an article about protests against the Vietnam War, or about protests in Washington D.C., or the Yippies, or levitation, or lots of other places (and if I see an article I think would benefit from the information I may add it). But I put it here because I saw a woefully short article on the Pentagon, I knew about this event in its history and was trying to help grow the article into something more than a brief mention of the building's existence and the 9/11 attacks.--Reginod 23:31, 6 April 2007 (EDT)
