Gary Habermas

Gary Habermas (1950) is a professor and department chairperson in the areas of philosophy and theology at Liberty University in Virginia. He is best known for his work in Christian apologetics, specifically in his historical defenses of the Resurrection of Jesus. Habermas wrote his doctoral thesis on this subject. What is notable was that he did so at a secular school (Michigan State University), using his "minimal facts" method in which he defends the Resurrection using only historical facts that the vast majority of historians agree with. Habermas was interviewed by Lee Strobel in a chapter of the book The Case for Christ, and has recently offered an extensive response to filmmaker James Cameron's claim to have found the "lost tomb of Jesus" on his website. [2]
