The Polar Bear (Ursus Maritimus) is a large species of bear found in the Arctic. They are capable of surviving extreme cold, as well as sea ice, snow and frozen land.
They have thick blubber to keep warm and white fur for camouflage. Polar bears hibernate through much of the winter, usually in an excavated snow den. Their normal diet consists mainly of seals, though in Canada they have been observed to take prey as small as lemmings.
They are the only natural predator of mankind, a condition thought to be due to their survival of the great flood outside of Noah's ark [1]. For this reason they are greatly feared by arctic travelers.

Polar bears also starred in a series of Coca-cola advertisements that ran during the 1990s. These were not actual polar bears, however no polar bears were injured during the filming of these commercials in contrast Michael Jackson advertisements in which he was badly burned.
