Stilton is a type of white, crumbly cheese, manufactured only in Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, and known for its distinctive smell and strong taste. It is named after the village of Stilton in Cambridgeshire where it first came to wide public attention through its availability at a busy coaching inn there.
