Marie Alvarado-Gil (b. December 24, 1973) is a politician who represents California's 4th State Senate district in the California State Senate following her election in the 2022 California State Senate election.
Elected a member of the Democratic Party, she joined the Republican Party on August 8, 2024,[1] because "I do not recognize the Democrat party of today,[2] in the past two years that I’ve been working in the Senate, I have not recognized the party that I belong to,” she explained
