Paul, as a contemporary of Jesus, shows awareness of numerous things about the teachings and life of Jesus in his letters and provides a biographical outline of Jesus that parallels content in the Gospels:<ref name="cb">Craig Blomberg. 2022. Prior to following Jesus, Paul persecuted followers of Jesus even up to death.<ref>Acts 26:10 "And that is what I did in Jerusalem; with authority received from the chief priests, I not only locked up many of the saints in prison, but I also cast my vote against them when they were being condemned to death."</ref> As such, Paul's testimony of Jesus carries weight as a former non-believer.
