Kyle Eckel is a National Football League fullback for the Philadelphia Eagles. He entered the NFL in 2005 when he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Patriots[1] before being cut by the team and later signed by the Miami Dolphins.[2] He spent the 2006 season on the Dolphins practice squad and played in no regular season games. On September 3, 2007, the Patriots signed Eckel to their practice squad.[3] He saw his first action in a NFL regular season game on October 1, 2007, in a game vs the Cincinnati Bengals when he was signed to the Patriots active roster.[4] In the game, Eckel was part of the special teams coverage unit[5] and also had three rushing attempts for eleven yards in the forth quarter of the game.[6] Two weeks later, in a game vs. the Dallas Cowboys, Eckel scored his first career NFL touchdown on a one-yard run.[7]
