Noble Ray Price was born on January 12, 1926 near Perryville, Texas. While attending college he performed regularly in Dallas on KRLDâs âBig D Jamboreeâ.
Signed to a recording contract by Columbia Records in 1951, Ray moved to Nashville and briefly shared living quarters with the legendary Hank Williams, Sr., who opened the door for Ray Price to be on the Grand Ole Opry.
Over the next four decades, Ray Price was a super star of country music with more than 100 chart hits, including #1 hits âEmpty Armsâ, âMy Shoes Keep Walking Back to Youâ, âCity Lightsâ, âThe *Same Old Meâ, âFor the Good Timesâ, âI Wonât Mention it Againâ, âSheâs Got To Be A Saintâ and âYouâre The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Meâ.
