: This comment makes no sense, or at the very least doesn't explain things very well. Yes, John knew Jesus. So how does that make one a liar? I see that the comment did result in a change to the article, but I don't know why. However, I think I'm correct in saying that Mark didn't know Jesus, so was not have been totally accurate. ::Mark was a protege of Peter; Luke was a protege of Paul. Of the four, Peter was a disiple of Jesus, and Paul (as Saul, prior to his conversion) met Jesus on the Damascus road in the book of Acts; the other two never met Him. John wrote his gospel on the island of Patmos nearly 70 years after he was a disciple...so Jerome's above rant is still a rant. [[User:Karajou|Karajou]] 05:28, 16 January 2008 (EST)
