Cabbage is a round leafy vegetable whose inner leaves are usually lighter than its outer ones. Although both lettuce and cabbage are used in salads, only cabbage is usually cooked.
Many different varieties of the cabbage plant are used for culinary purposes; these include red cabbage, Savoy cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, kohlrabi and Brussels sprouts.
Cabbages with brightly colored and patterned leaves are sometimes used as ornamental garden plants. [1]
According to some creationists cabbages were likely created by God on the third day of creation about 4000 BC.
