Ernest Borgnine (January 24, 1917 - July 8, 2012) is an American Academy award-winning actor known for his role as Lt. Cmdr Quentin McHale in the TV show McHale's Navy. He was also a regular voice-over for the superhero Mermaid Man in the Nickelodeon TV show SpongeBob SquarePants until his death.
