Alphanumeric characters

Alphanumeric characters are the set of symbols in a locale's character set that include both letters and the decimal digits. (Cf. punctuation symbols)

In English, the alphanumeric set of 62 characters would include uppercase letters A-Z, lowercase letters a-z, and digits 0-9.
