Elk can mean:

  • The classic species Cervus canadensis, known as elk today in North America.
  • The first species (Alces alces) to be called "elk" in Europe, or moose in North America.
  • The large Indian deer Cervus unicolor, or sambar deer
  • The now-extinct Irish Elk (Megaloceros)

"Elk" can also mean a member of the Benevolent Order of Elks.
