A liberal is someone who favors rational thought plus increased government spending and power, as in healthcare that will save lives. Increasingly liberals side with freedom and liberty, including same-sex marriage. Many conservative faggots think liberals favor a welfare state where people receive endless entitlements without working. This is not true, most welfare is not enough to live on. Some people say the decline in liberal principles can be illustrated by how Franklin Delano Roosevelt opposed and condemned public sector unions, stating that the idea of collective bargaining can't be transferred from the private to the public sector, as that would result in the government being unable to carry out its duties. This is false, FDR never said anything like this. Yet today, decades later, Republifags and conservatives are in lock-step with corporations, as they "donate" money to the reelection campaign in exchange for more taxpayer money in their wallets and fluffed up pensions.

A liberal generally supports many of the following political positions and practices:

• Spending money on government programs (like healthcare.)
• Government's ability to solve economic problems
• The belief that terrorism is not a huge threat, and that the main reason for Muslim extremists' hostility towards America is because of bad foreign policy
• Taxpayer-funded and/or legalized abortion so that children will not starve after birth.
• Censorship of teacher-led prayer in classrooms and school/state-sponsored religious events, as the founding fathers stated in the constitution that government will not have anything to do with religion. The founding fathers hated the Vatican and saw it as greedy and power hungry. They also did not want a theocratic America as every theocracy in history, from Sparta to Rome to 16th century England, has abused their power.
• Support for gun control so that murderers and psychopaths do not get access to guns. Are you still going to be pro-gun when your family is killed with a machine gun? You can't be prolife and pro-gun.
• Affirmative action so that all people have equal opportunity.
• Support of obscenity, pornography and violence in video games as a First Amendment right
• Government-funded medical care, such as Obamacare. Liberals, unlike Conservatives, actually care about people after birth.
• Taxpayer-funded and government-controlled public education so that our children will be tought scientific facts such as evolution and climate change. These facts have been proven by 150 years of the smartest men to ever live, so some idiot with a diploma mill degree is not going to disprove these facts.
• Insisting that men and women be placed in the same jobs in the military for the sake of equality
• Legalized same-sex marriage and homosexual adoption for the sake of freedom
• Tax and spend. Bill Clinton employed this system and he got enormous government surpluses. Reagan? Tripled the deficit of the previous administration.
• Support for economic sector regulations in order to avoid risky ventures and economic collapses.
• Support and spreading of political correctness because liberals are not racist.
• Support of non-syndicalist labor unions, as unions have done many things for us, including getting minimum wage put in.
• Encouraging "taking a car for a test drive before you buy" through sexual education (the teaching of safe sex) rather than teaching abstinence from premarital sex because that is an outdated idea from even before the 1800s. Besides, according to your book the Bible, abstinence only works 99.99% of the time.
• Believing that a "living Constitution" that is reinterpreted as conservatives prefer, rather than how it is thought to have been intended, is stupid and hypocritical.
• Government programs to rehabilitate criminals because everybody deserves a second chance. Jesus preached that.
• Abolition of the death penalty because the executioner is just as bad as the murderer.
• Environmentalism because liberals care about our planet.
• Globalism
• Opposition to the integration of church and state because you will not find a single theocracy in history that has NOT abused it's power.
• Opposition to full private property rights.
• Reinstating the Fairness Doctrine
• In 2005, it was reported by CBS News that liberals were the most likely supporters of the theory of evolution because liberals like rational thought and science, as opposed to keeping people uneducated and ignorant.
• Opposition to domestic wire-tapping as authorized in the Patriot Act because we have a right to privacy.
• Opposition of Operation Iraqi Freedom, a major part of the War on Terrorism because it wasted billions of dollars, caused thousands of deaths, and was unneccessary.
• Withholds support to the War on Terrorism and the War in Iraq. Again, these wars are enormous wastes of money. The hypocrite author presumably opposed Libya. Would you have supported that decision if it was McCain's?
• Tolerance of different ideas and lifestyles because there are 3 billion non-Christians.
• Do not support a laissez-faire capitalist economy and support regulation of business so that economic collapses will be averted.

Liberals currently use two clauses to try and expand their power: the Commerce Clause and the General Welfare Clause. The general welfare clause mentions "promoting the general welfare". This to a liberal means taxing the rich at increased rates and redistributing that money, because a 3% tax increase will feed millions.. The commerce clause, on the other hand, says that Congress has the power to regulate trade with foreign nations, between the states and with the indian tribes. Since the days of FDR this clause has been interpreted very loosely and has resulted in the federal government expanding its power. The latest example is The Affordable Care Act(ACA), better know as Obamacare. In the ACA, the liberals justify the individual mandate by saying it regulates commerce between the states. Funny, I don't hear anybody complaining about auto insurance being mandatory.

Current dictionaries describe the liberal ideology by pretending that a liberal is "a person who favors a political philosophy of progress and reform and the protection of civil liberties" or "a person who favors an economic theory of laissez-faire and self-regulating markets," or "open-minded or tolerant, especially free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc." or "favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties."

Liberals and Uncharitableness

American Liberals have been observed to give less to charity than American conservatives. This link is a biased right wing website. In addition, per capita atheists and agnostics in the United States give significantly less to charity than theists even when church giving is not counted for theists.[5][6][7]

Atheists and agnostics often reject Biblical morality (and therefore conservative Christianity ) and hold to moral relativism. In Europe, on the other hand, parties that call themselves liberal are moderate in outlook, ranging from centre-left to centre-right, promote typically economic and business freedom. In the postwar period, liberals supported government intervention in the economy and welfare state policies, as well as peaceful coexistence with the communist block, which are not liberal policies in the sense of classical liberalism. After the end of the cold war, with the demise of socialism and communism, many liberals embraced some ideas from economic neo-liberalism, and coined it the "Third Way". In the area of national security and foreign policy liberals in the U.S. failed to define a consistent stance, even after the events of 9/11 and the beginning of the war in Iraq.
