Southeastern Conference

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is composed of 14 sports teams at the college level located mainly in the Southern United States. There are 13 public universities, and one private institution (Vanderbilt University). The conference is divided up into two sections, East and West.

The Eastern Conference is made up of:

• The Florida Gators
• The Georgia Bulldogs
• The Kentucky Wildcats
• The Missouri Tigers
• The South Carolina Gamecocks
• The Tennessee Volunteers
• The Vanderbilt Commodores

The West is made up of:

• The Alabama Crimson Tide
• The Arkansas Razorbacks
• The Auburn Tigers
• The Louisiana State Tigers
• The Ole Miss Rebels
• The Mississippi State Bulldogs
• The Texas A and M Aggies

This conference has produced numerous titles in all divisions of athletics, most notably in football (on the only two occasions where the Football Bowl Series national championship game featured two teams from the same conference, both times the SEC had the featured teams). The SEC leads in average attendance in both basketball and football, and five of their stadiums hold 90,000 plus fans.
