In the United Kingdom, police and left-wing local governments are known to have sanctioned the criminal gangs, and have pursued parents and critics with alleged hate crime laws.

A UK think tank issued a report in December 2017. Grooming gangs were studied going back to 2005. The report found: The researches who compiled the study are both Pakistani Brits.
