River Clyde

The Upper Clyde Valley, and the town of Biggar.

The River Clyde is the most important river on the west coast of Scotland. From its source in the Lowther hills in the Scottish Lowlands, it runs down Clydesdale (from where comes the Clydesdale breed of large horse), past Lanark, Motherwell and Hamilton, through Glasgow and out into the Firth of Clyde.
