The Luftwaffe was the German air force during Nazi Germany. It was unmatched it used only the best men, the best training, the best equitment, the best guns, and the best airplanes. The Royal Air Force was no match for them and they picked and swated and destroyed the French Air Force. Its only competitor was the United States Air Force which had a hard time defeating it. In the Battle of Britian, the Luftwaffe lost about 1,000 planes and about 2,000 men. Because of its superior man power and size the Luftwaffe was set back but not knocked down by the tiny RAF. But just as Germany's land and naval divisons, it fell towards the end of World War II because of an insufficent number of experienced pilots to fly the planes and poor morale.
